November 2014
On November 11, 2014, at 2:00 am, Lilian woke up from her sleep. This was a normal thing since she had been waking up frequently during the night, a common thing to happen to pregnant women in their third trimester. She started to feel a little different. A while later, she felt a contraction. She woke Dan up and told him to call her mom and that they were going to the hospital. Dan was a bit groggy still and Lilian kept hurrying him. She started to go to the car and wondered where he was. He did not realize that she meant let's leave right away and he was brushing his teeth. When they got to the hospital, Lilian was already 9 centimeters dialated. She knew the baby wanted to come out and asked for a doctor. She convinced the doctor that she needed her water broken before she started pushing. Kalina came out as soon as she started to push. At 2:59 am, Kalina entered the world. The nurse said, "That's a big baby!" She was 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 20 inches long.
October 2014
We had a great time with Xiao Bao and his mom at the Perry Farms Pumpkin Patch.
July 2014
July 29, 2014- James went to preschool for the first time. James and Mommy had gone a few times to visit so he can get more comfortable and familiar with the people there. He was always happy to see his best friend Julia from day care there. Daddy dropped James off. James was okay until they went through the door. He clung onto Daddy's leg and would not let go. Finally, one of the teachers said it will be easier for him to go. Daddy left and James started to cry. At 10:30 am, Mommy got a phone call from Miss Wanda saying that after Daddy left, James was crying and Miss Wanda hugged and comforted him. He stopped crying and had Miss Wanda hold his hand while he joined in the dancing. After a while, Miss Wanda had to go get snack ready. She told James she was leaving to buy milk but that she would be back. James was okay with this. She had Miss Jennifer and Miss Cheryl keep a special eye on him. When she came back, she found James busy making a necklace. She let him know she was back and he was fine and didn't need her by his side anymore.
When Mommy picked him up in the afternoon, James was smiling and said he had fun. He said he is excited to go back tomorrow and won't cry when she drops him off. He said the best part was being with his friend Julia.
Below is a picture of James with the necklace that he made that first day.
Auntie Jodie, Presley, and Kurt came for a visit.
Presley entertained Luke with an Elmo puppet.
Presley and James worked on some paintings.
We had some creative builders in the house today!
James LOVES Thomas the Train so Mommy and Daddy decided to take him to Roaring Railroads to ride on a train pulled by Thomas. James was so excited when he saw him!
Luke did not love being confined on the train. He was really happy when the train stopped and he could go around and talk to all the people.
It was such a hot day (in the 90s in Felton) that Mommy decided everyone should go to the beach to cool off.
Luke had his first trip to the dentist. Auntie Rosa came too. Lilian thought things would go okay since he is pretty easy going and not afraid of people. It started off well.
He liked the trains in the waiting room.
He sat in the big boy chair and wore sunglasses so the lights wouldn't be too bright.
He didn't want to get examined though and sat in Mommy's lap.
Poor kid did not know what was happening to him.
James was not a fan of his exam either. He didn't fight it but was not happy during it.
After the exam, both boys wanted their mommy. They didn't cheer up until they got a lollipop
(James) and yogurt drops (Luke) afterwards.
I wanted to take 1 year old pictures of Luke. I was a few months late but better late than never! Here are my three favorite ones.
So innocent looking right?
Happy Hallow
Luke loved brushing the goat's fur. Unfortunately, he got too close (is he sitting on the goat?) while I was taking this picture and the goat left to a safer place right after. Oops.
Curiodyssey
After exploring Curiodyssey, we met up with Auntie Shell for lunch at Sony/Playstation.
On the ride home, I asked James what his favorite part of the morning was. He said, "Auntie Shell!" Wow! She beat our the animals, exhibits, party juice, and even the cookie!
The boys loved exploring at Habitot in Berkeley.
We're in the rocketship!
